Andrea Arias, LCSW-C

Therapist at Bethesda Counseling Services
Considered going to therapy but thought it wouldn’t make a difference? Maybe your family, community, or cultural upbringing doesn’t encourage reaching out for help or sharing your feelings with others. I want you to know that there is no shame in reaching out for help. In fact, we all go through difficult times and we don’t need to go through it alone. Together we will build a strong therapeutic relationship that supports your goals and priorities. My work centers around attaching new meaning to your experiences and constructing creative healthy habits for self-growth.
I specialize in working with adults, adolescents, and families on a variety issues, including but not limited to: trauma, anxiety, substance abuse, depression, loss, life transitions, and managing stress. I am a bilingual (English & Spanish) therapist that celebrates diversity and supports each client’s uniqueness.
I approach our relationship with acceptance and provide a non-judgmental, safe, and warm environment in which you will be authentically heard and empowered. Ultimately, I strive to work with you in a way that raises your experience and allows you to be the expert of your own life.
When I am not in the therapy room, I enjoy getting in some physical movement, practicing mindfulness, and spending time with loved ones.
