Julia Caruana, LCMFT

Owner and Founder of Bethesda Counseling Services
Some people still ask if I am seeing clients and unfortunately I took a pause almost a year ago after having my 4th child. Although I miss my clients, I have found a new passion in mentoring my therapists and making sure that BCS lives up to its mission which is to provide a nurturing and supportive environment to guide clients through their journey. It all started during my first pregnancy when I decided to say goodbye to working in the school system and open a home office, a place where clients would leave feeling more connected with themselves and their loved ones. As the practice grew and my family grew, I decided it was time to take the next step and build a group practice that would not only provide services to children and families but also a supportive space for therapists to grow professionally and personally. Eight years and four kids later, I have an amazing team doing exactly that. I could not have done it without my two ‘guinea pigs’, Joanna and Wendy who very bravely decided to join me at my home office and later on to our new and current office. I now have a team of 20+ therapists that have shown the professionalism, warmth and positive energy that I always imagined in a team.
When I am not at BCS, I enjoy spending time with my husband and children, visiting my family in Spain and slowly getting to know different areas in the US. I love watching cooking shows with my cats on my lap.
