Sonja Large
Although life may have its ups and downs, I believe that there is always hope for recovery, self-growth, and a bright future. My approach as a therapist is strengths-based, encouraging, collaborative, and solution-focused. I specialize in working with adolescents and adults of all ages. I have a particular interest in working with adults going through transition periods such as a new move, marriage, or job to name a few. There is a lot of hope and opportunity during transition periods as well as potential feelings of anxiety and loneliness. I would love to take a collaborative approach in helping you navigate and adjust to new opportunities and changes. I also have experience working with depression and anxiety.
I understand that you are the expert of your own experiences, and it is my role to work along side you to help you achieve your goals and work towards recovery. I offer an outside, empathetic, and understanding perspective on what is going on and will help you come to your own conclusion of what works best for you.
My bachelor's degree is in psychology from Eastern Michigan University, and I have a master’s in social work from the University of Oklahoma.
I live in Maryland with my husband and two cats. In my free time I love to read, cross stitch, hang out with my friends, and I love to cook and bake.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or want to set up a 15-minute free consultation to see if working together will be the right fit for you.
