Making Relationship Support More Accessible: New Lower Fees for Couples Counseling

As a therapist, I work with both individuals and couples, and while I love both, there’s something uniquely powerful about the healing that happens when partners grow together. There’s so much I love about couples work, but perhaps the most significant element is that my clients aren’t working alone.

Within the space of the couples therapy room, each person has a partner. They build skills as a team. They process difficult emotions side by side, and learn how to be with each other’s difficult emotions. They learn how to show up for each other--even when things get messy--how to be safe for each other, and how to navigate conflict.

A not-so-long time ago, I practiced kung fu. In doing so, I learned the difference between practicing hitting a bag and suiting up with safety gear and sparring with another person. In sparring, we had guard rails, and nobody was ever seriously hurt. We practiced real moves, and we got better together much faster than when we worked alone.

Couples therapy is no different. I work with couples to learn how to build trust—and how to be trustworthy. The couples that change the most quickly practice these skills with each other every single day.

If you’re curious about starting couples therapy, I’m currently offering a reduced rate for three couples willing to participate in taped sessions for training purposes. I’ve completed advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and would be honored to support your journey.
