Ally Hofbauer

I am a relational therapist who believes that meaningful healing occurs through authentic connection. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, life transitions, or emotional overwhelm, I strive to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel understood, gently challenged, and empowered to grow.

While I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, I have a particular passion for supporting adolescent girls and young women. Adolescence can be a time of tremendous growth, but it can also bring intense pressure, uncertainty, loneliness, and self-doubt. Many of the teens I work with struggle with anxiety, depression, perfectionism, low self-esteem, friendship difficulties, family conflict, self-harm, trauma, or questions about identity and belonging. My goal is to help them better understand themselves, build resilience, strengthen relationships, and develop the confidence to navigate life's challenges. My therapeutic approach is grounded in relational, person-centered, and humanistic principles. I believe that every individual possesses inherent strengths and the capacity for healing. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I seek to understand each person's unique experiences, relationships, and story. Therapy is not about fixing what is "wrong" with you—it is about creating the conditions for growth, insight, and meaningful change.

My professional experience spans a variety of clinical settings and levels of care. Prior to joining BCS, I worked with adolescents and their families in higher levels of care, supporting teens experiencing depression, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, self-harm, suicidal ideation, trauma, and family conflict. These experiences deepened my understanding of the unique challenges adolescents and families face during times of crisis. I have also worked within a freestanding psychiatric hospital, providing care to individuals experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms and mental health crises. Additionally, I worked in a women's substance use treatment program at both inpatient and intensive outpatient levels of care, supporting women navigating substance use disorders, trauma, co-occurring mental health concerns, and recovery. Across these settings, I have had the privilege of working with clients facing a wide range of mental health concerns and life challenges. These experiences continue to inform my work today and reinforce my commitment to providing compassionate, individualized, and relationship-centered care.

To best meet the needs of my clients, I integrate evidence-based approaches including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Child-Centered Play Therapy. I tailor treatment to each client's developmental stage, goals, and individual strengths, helping them develop practical coping skills while also exploring deeper patterns that may be contributing to their current struggles.

I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel vulnerable. Whether you are seeking support for yourself, your child, or your family, my hope is that therapy becomes a place where you feel safe enough to explore difficult topics, strengthen relationships, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have been lost or overlooked along the way. It is a privilege to walk alongside clients during these important seasons of growth, healing, and change.
