Francis Maningding
Therapist at Bethesda Counseling Services
Mental health stigma is prevalent throughout most cultures. Suffering in silence and continuing to struggle through hardship alone does not have to be the answer or be normalized. If being hard on yourself worked, then it should have already worked by now! Whether you consider your life troubles big or small, therapy can assist in healing and reaching your full potential.
Sometimes, reflecting on yourself and your journey can be the scariest thing you can do. Allowing yourself to be vulnerable can be a daunting task. My goal is to collaboratively help you achieve your best self and maneuver around life issues in a safe environment, free of judgement.
I have experience working with diverse identities and populations, with ages ranging from 18-70 years old. Some of my specialties includes working with minority populations, the LGBTQ population, and military/veteran populations. I have experience in treating depression, self-esteem issues, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, and relationship issues. My style of therapy utilizes a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy and person-centered therapy.
I received my Bachelor of Arts from University of Maryland and my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. I am currently a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC).
In my free time, I enjoy hiking and spending time with my miniature Siberian Husky. I also enjoy coaching health, diet and fitness!
