Couples therapy your way - with packages and lower-fee options.

Miriam Shenouda

Rooted in a multicultural upbringing, I strive to meet each client where they are-joining them in a collaborative journey toward growth and healing. I believe human connection is a powerful catalyst for transformation. Every person deserves to be seen, heard, and embraced. Therapy, to me, is a space where your authentic self is welcomed and celebrated-a place to show up fully, without restraint.

I was born and raised in Egypt and attended the German school in Cairo, which immersed me in German culture from an early age. Later, I pursued my undergraduate studies at the American University in Cairo, majoring in Sociology with minors in Psychology and Community Development. My passion for development-both personal and systemic-has always guided my path. I recently earned dual Master's degrees in Professional Counseling and Counseling & Mental Health Services from the University of Pennsylvania.

My therapeutic approach is eclectic and grounded in cultural humility. I'm certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and I draw from psychodynamic principles to explore how past experiences shape present patterns. I also integrate relational-cultural theory to examine how systemic and interpersonal contexts contribute to emotional struggles and resilience.

Outside the therapy room, I find joy and grounding in nature. I love meditating in quiet parks, running to clear my mind, and recently decided to take up tennis. Traveling is another passion of mine. These moments of stillness and exploration help me stay connected to myself, and they shape the way I hold space for others.

Whether you're seeking personal insight, healing from past wounds, or navigating complex life transitions, I aim to create a space where you feel deeply supported, empowered, and truly seen.

I provide services in Arabic, English and German.
