Marli Abramowitz
Therapist at Bethesda Counseling Services
Therapy is a space where clients can come to understand themselves on a deeper level, work through life challenges, and grow as a person. My role as a therapist is to provide clients with a warm, comforting, and non-judgmental environment; a space that feels safe to share one’s story. I value working collaboratively with my clients, aiding my clients in reaching their own individual goals. I strive to assist you in cultivating the changes you want to make in your life and finding healthy ways to cope with life’s stressors.
I am a licensed social worker in Maryland, Virginia, and DC. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I have extensive experience working with college-aged students in helping them navigate the many transitions taking place during this phase of life. I have worked with a variety of individuals using a client-centered, strengths-based approach focused on tailoring the sessions to the client’s individual needs, and helping to identify and implement coping skills to utilize alongside their healing journey.
I was born and raised in Maryland and completed my undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at the University of Maryland. I received my Master of Social Work graduate degree from the University of Michigan. When I am not in the therapy room, I love playing with my dogs, going to the movies, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
Clinical Degrees: LCSW-C (Certified Social Worker – Clinical), LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), LICSW (Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker)
