Marli Abramowitz, LMSW

Therapist at Bethesda Counseling Services
Therapy is a space where clients can come to understand themselves on a deeper level, work through life challenges, and grow as a person. My role as a therapist is to provide clients with a warm, comforting, and non-judgmental environment; a space that feels safe to share one’s story. I value working collaboratively with my clients, aiding my clients in reaching their own individual goals. My goal is not to make changes for you, but rather to support you in coping with life’s stressors.
I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults. I particularly enjoy providing therapy to college-aged students, working together to navigate the many transitions taking place during this phase of life. I have worked with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and anger. I am here to support my clients through their own individual journeys.
I was born and raised in Maryland and completed my undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a Minor in Human Development at the University of Maryland. I received my Master of Social Work graduate degree from the University of Michigan. I also have a certificate in advanced trauma treatment. When I am not in the therapy room, I love playing with my dogs, going to the movies, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
